I am a British-Turkish writer and radio producer, and I like telling stories, or helping other people tell theirs. You can find examples of my work - in audio and in print - elsewhere on this site.
My debut book - a sentence that still doesn’t seem real - is The Endless Country, a personal history of Turkey’s first hundred years. It will be published by Picador in June 2024.
Before my career, I studied at SOAS, specialising in the politics and history of Africa and the Middle East, the two regions I have focused on since professionally.
I currently live in London with my partner and our son, the most beautiful boy in the world.
